Recaps are published online on the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/sag-aftra\/negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Tentative Agreements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The parties tentatively agreed to the following:<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 43 \u2013 Salary Overpayment Recovery <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The parties agreed to housekeeping updates as well as clarifying language to accurately reflect current practice.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>SAG-AFTRA Initial Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Article 18 \u2013 Safety and Health <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Union proposed that the Employer would provide at least one fleet vehicle for travel and work assignments to bargaining unit employees.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>New Side Letter \u2013 Artificial Intelligence <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Union proposed a new Side Letter where if the contents of <a href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/RCW\/default.aspx?cite=41.56.401\">RCW 41.56.401<\/a> were to change, the parties would meet and negotiate over technology, including artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>SAG-AFTRA Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Article 35 \u2013 Union Representatives and Stewards \u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In response to the Employer\u2019s proposal, the Union agreed to the Employer\u2019s housekeeping edits but restated its proposal on paid release time for three bargaining unit members in future negotiation sessions<\/p>\n<h4><strong>UW Initial Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Article 3 \u2013 Non-discrimination and Diversity<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Employer proposed housekeeping updates as well as striking language regarding a committee that is not meeting currently.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 6 \u2013 Grievance and Arbitration Procedure <\/strong><\/h5>\n<h6><strong>Filing and Processing<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The Employer proposed removing language regarding meeting in person so that that both parties could determine together whether virtual or in person was more appropriate.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Step One Grievance Procedure<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The Employer proposed to increase the number of days the Employer has to respond in writing following a Step One grievance meeting from 15 days to 30 days.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 7 \u2013 Union Security <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Employer proposed including language that would reflect the contents of reports the Union already receives from the Employer every pay period.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 9 \u2013 Overtime <\/strong><\/h5>\n<h6><strong>Overtime for Non-Exempt Employees<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The Employer proposed adding language that would clarify current practice regarding overtime for non-exempt employees.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Temporary Modified Weekly Schedule<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The Employer proposed including language allowing the employee and their supervisor to mutually agree on allowing the employee to flex their work schedule within their regular work week.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 18 \u2013 Safety and Health<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Employer proposed housekeeping edits as well as bringing Side Letter A \u2013 U-PASS into the body of the contract as a new subsection in Article 18.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 21 \u2013 Holidays <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Employer proposed housekeeping edits as well as clarifying that holiday credit must be used before other paid time off.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 31 \u2013 Rehire Rights <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Employer proposed housekeeping edits.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 41 \u2013 Sick Time Off<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Employer proposed housekeeping edits as well as including language related to <a href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/billsummary?BillNumber=5101&amp;Initiative=False&amp;Year=2025\">HB 5101<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Side Letter A \u2013 U-PASS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Employer proposed memorializing the U-PASS into Article 18 and, if agreed to, it proposed eliminating this Side Letter.<\/p>\n<p>The Employer proposed striking these already implemented MOUs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MOU \u2013 Seattle Locality Premium<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>MOU \u2013 Lump Sum Payment<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Next Steps <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The next UW and SAG-AFTRA bargaining session is scheduled for November 19, 2025, and will be held in
