Background<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This recap details the twelfth session for the negotiation for the collective bargaining agreement between SEIU 925-Continuum College and UW. Recaps are published online on the\u00a0UW Labor Relations website.<\/a><\/p>\n

SEIU 925- Continuum College Initial Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Article \u2013 Compensation, Wages and Other Pay Provisions<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Union proposed an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the SEIU 925 \u2013 IHME<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n

The Union proposed the following regarding salary minimums and maximums:<\/p>\n

Within three months of the contract ratification in year one, minimum and maximum salaries would be increased by 5%.<\/p>\n

In year two the minimum and maximum salaries would be increased by 4%.<\/p>\n

In year three the minimum and maximum salaries would be increased by 4%.<\/p>\n

The Union proposed the following regarding salary increases:<\/p>\n

Within three months of the contract ratification in year one, all members of the bargaining units salaries would be increased by 5%.<\/p>\n

In year two all members of the bargaining units salaries would be increased by 4%.<\/p>\n

The Union also proposed within a year of the ratification of this contract, the Employer would conduct a compression and inversion analysis of bargaining unit employees and would implement adjustments to wages to correct compression and inversion within six months of completion of the study.<\/p>\n

New Appendix \u2013 Salary Table<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Union completed an analysis of where they believe bargaining unit employees stand within the market.<\/p>\n

The Union proposes that within three months of contract ratification:<\/p>\n

Bargaining unit employees over 30% behind market, which they categorize as severely underpaid, receive a 15% market range adjustment.<\/p>\n

Bargaining unit employees between 20% and 29% behind market, which they categorize as moderately underpaid, receive a 10% market range adjustment.<\/p>\n

Bargaining unit employees between 5% and 19% behind market, which they categorize as slightly underpaid, receive a 5% market range adjustment.<\/p>\n

Bargaining unit employees between 0% and 5% behind market, which they categorize as aligned with market, receive a 0% market range adjustment.<\/p>\n

Tentative Agreements<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Article- Sick Time Off<\/strong><\/p>\n

The parties agreed to an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the SEIU 925 \u2013 IHME<\/a>. New Language was added that sick time off would be used to allow the employee to prepare for, or participate in, any judicial or administrative immigration proceeding involving the employee or employee’s family member.<\/p>\n

The parties agreed to an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the SEIU 925 <\/a>contract.<\/p>\n

Article \u2013 Absence Due to Family Care Emergencies\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

The parties agreed to an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the SEIU 925<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n

Article \u2013 Civil\/Jury Duty Time Off and Bereavement Time Off<\/strong><\/p>\n

The parties agreed to an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the SEIU 925 \u2013 IHME<\/a> contract. Bereavement time off was expanded from three days to five days and the definition of a family member for this article was expanded to match the definition of a family member in the sick time off article.<\/p>\n

Article \u2013 Military Duty Leave<\/strong><\/p>\n

The parties agreed to an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the SEIU 925 \u2013Libraries<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n
