Recaps are published online on the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/1199-research-hall-health\/seiu-1199-researchhall-health-negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website.<\/a><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>SEIU 1199NW RHH Initial Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>New MOU \u2013 Contract Extension <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Union proposed that the current contract expiration date of June 30, 2025 be extended to July 30, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>UW Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Article 9 &#8211; Wages and Other Pay Provisions <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the Union, the Employer proposed to increase their proposal for increases for all SEIU 1199 represented employees from a 2% increase on July 1, 2025 to a 3% increase on July 1, 2025 and increase from a 1% increase on July 1, 2026 to a 2% increase on July 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article 14 &#8211; Union Activities <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the Union, the Employer removed their proposed language that requests for information would not normally extend more than twenty-four (24) months prior to the date of the request.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article 15 &#8211; Sick Leave <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Employer proposed to add language that effective July 27, 2025, employees would be able to use sick leave to prepare for, or participate in, any judicial or administrative immigration proceeding involving the employee or employee&#8217;s family member.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New MOU \u2013 Contract Extension <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the Union, the Employer rejected to extend the current contract expiration date of June 30, 2025 to July 30, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>SEIU 1199NW RHH Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Article 6 &#8211; Bargaining Unit Classes \/ Definitions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UW Labor Relations is still waiting to get the union&#8217;s proposal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Tentative Agreements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Article 2 \u2013 Nondiscrimination<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The parties agreed to keep current contract language and make a small housekeeping edit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article 10 &#8211; Tuition Exemption Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The parties agreed to keep current contract language and make a small housekeeping edit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article 28 &#8211; Health Care Benefits Amounts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The parties agreed to updating the information to reflect the next biennium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article 41 &#8211; Civil\/Jury Duty Time Off and Bereavement Time Off<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The parties agreed to expand Bereavement time off from three days to five days and match the definition of family member from the sick time off article.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Next Steps <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The next UW &amp; 1199NW RHH bargaining session will be scheduled for some time in July and will be held virtually.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background This recap details the third virtual session for the negotiation for the 2025-2027 collective bargaining agreement between the UW and SEIU 1199NW Research\/Hall Health.
