Recaps are published online on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925-continuum-college\/negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>SEIU 925- Continuum College Initial Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Article \u2013 Health and Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Union proposed an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925-ihme\/contract#article-34-health-and-safety\">SEIU 925 \u2013 IHME<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article \u2013 Late Night Work Meals and Transportation \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Union proposed an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925-ihme\/contract#article-37-late-night-work-meals-and-transportation\">SEIU 925 \u2013 IHME<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article \u2013 Employee Assistance Program\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Union proposed an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925-ihme\/contract#article-40-employee-assistance-program\">SEIU 925 \u2013 IHME<\/a> contract. The Union also incorporated sections from the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925\/contract#article-37-employee-assistance-program\">SEIU 925 <\/a>contract regarding the Employer and the Union encouraging and supporting employee participation in appropriate programs including the Washington State Employee Assistance Program (WA EAP).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article \u2013 Personnel Files <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Union proposed an article that matches much of the same language from the similar article in the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925-ihme\/contract#article-38-personnel-files\">SEIU 925 \u2013 IHME<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>UW &#8211; Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Article \u2013 Civil\/Jury Duty Time Off and Bereavement Time Off<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the Union, the Employer proposed to expand the definition of a family member to match the definition of a family member in the sick time off article.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article- Absence Due to Family Care Emergencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the Union, the Employer proposed to counter the proposed article Absence Due to Personal Emergencies which was an expansion of the Absence Due to Child Care Emergencies article from <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925\/contract#article-25-absence-due-to-child-care-emergencies\">SEIU 925<\/a> contract with an article Absence Due to Family Care Emergencies which matches much of the language from the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/seiu-925\/contract#article-25-absence-due-to-child-care-emergencies\">SEIU 925<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>SEIU 925- Continuum College Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Article- Telework<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the Employer, the Union proposed to add new language around aligning Continuum College with the UW telework policy. This language includes allowing staff flexibility in choosing anchor days, allowing staff to switch anchor days when occasionally needed, and providing clear articulation of the right work from out of state and of the potential for such work to be regular and occasional remote work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Steps<\/strong><br \/>\nThe next UW &amp; SEIU Continuum College bargaining session is scheduled for May 12, 2025 and will be held in person.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background This recap details the eight session for the negotiation for the collective bargaining agreement between SEIU 925-Continuum College and UW.
