Recaps are published online on the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/unions\/seiu-1199\/negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tentative Agreements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The parties signed tentative agreements to close the following provisions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Article 9 \u2013 Hours of Work and Overtime\n<ul>\n<li>New language states that all compensatory time must be used by June 30 of each year or will be cashed out on that date. Compensatory time may also be cashed out when an employee transfers to a position in their department with a different funding source, or transfers to a position in another department. New language clarifies that work schedule language is not applicable to standby<\/li>\n<li>Required scheduled shift rotation changes shall be limited to three per four-week schedule period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Article 15 \u2013 Committees\n<ul>\n<li>Consolidated three JLM committees to create the Imaging Committee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Article 19 \u2013 Job Postings and Transfer\n<ul>\n<li>Streamlined language related to the process by which employees request a different shift or schedule in their present unit\/department, as well as transfers to another unit\/department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Article 41 \u2013 New Employee Orientation\n<ul>\n<li>Updated to reflect state law that allows for the Union to have up to thirty (30) minutes with employees during new employee orientation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Appendix I \u2013 Job Classifications\n<ul>\n<li>Added Imaging Technologists to the Professional\/Technical bargaining unit<\/li>\n<li>Changed the job classification title of Health Care Specialists to Physician Assistant-Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Appendix VIII \u2013 Layoff Units\n<ul>\n<li>Added Imaging Technologists to the Professional\/Technical layoff unit<\/li>\n<li>Created three separate layoff units for Imaging Technologist Supervisors, Pharmacy Technicians and Dieticians<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>MOU \u2013 Negotiations for the 19-21 Agreement\n<ul>\n<li>Updated for the 2021-2023 Agreement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Side Letter B \u2013 Missed Breaks, Rest Breaks, and Missed Break Reporting\n<ul>\n<li>Maintained current contract language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>New Article \u2013 Washington Family Medical Leave Program\n<ul>\n<li>The Washington State Family and Medical Leave Program goes into effect beginning January 1, 2020 and the parties agree that eligibility for and approval of leave under the program shall be in accordance with the relevant law.\u00a0 The Employer will adhere to the remainder of the provisions outlined in the law.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li> \tNew MOU \u2013 Dietician Bargaining Unit and Wages\n<ul>\n<li>Dietician 1 and 2 job classifications will be moved to Pay Table BC at Pay Ranges 40 and 50respectively, at the step closest to but not under their current step value<\/li>\n<li>Dieticians will remain overtime exempt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>New MOU \u2013 Dietician Premiums\n<ul>\n<li>Dieticians will be eligible for $1.00 certification pay for all hours worked, $3.75 standby pay and $1.50 weekend premium<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>New MOU \u2013 Quarterly JLM Committee\n<ul>\n<li>All JLMs referred to in Article 15, except the RN and Social Work committees, will meet quarterly for ninety minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Agenda items and release requests will be submitted at least fourteen days in advance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Next Steps <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The next UW-SEIU 1199 bargaining session is scheduled for July 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background This recap details the fifteenth and sixteenth sessions for the renewal of the collective bargaining agreement between the UW and SEIU 1199.
