Recaps are published online on the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/unions\/seiu-1199\/negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>UW Initial Economic Proposal<\/h4>\n<p>The Employer proposed an across-the-board wage increase of one percent (1%) on the first available pay period following ratification, and another one percent (1%) effective July 1, 2020.<\/p>\n<h4>Tentative Agreements<\/h4>\n<p>The parties tentatively agreed to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New MOU: Salary Overpayment Recovery\n<ul>\n<li>Details the process for salary overpayment recovery in accordance with relevant state law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Article 25 &#8211; Leave Due to Family Care Emergency\n<ul>\n<li>Expanded child care emergencies to family care emergencies, by adding coverage for elder care emergencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The parties tentatively agreed to retain current contract language in the following unopened articles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preamble<\/li>\n<li>Article 1 \u2013 Purpose<\/li>\n<li>Article 4 \u2013 Recognition\/Employer<\/li>\n<li>Article 5 \u2013 Affirmative Action<\/li>\n<li>Article 8 \u2013 Employee Facilities<\/li>\n<li>Article 12 \u2013 Scholarship Fund \u2013 Registered Nurses<\/li>\n<li>Article 22 \u2013 Management Rights and Responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Article 23 \u2013 Performance of Duty<\/li>\n<li>Article 31 \u2013 Health and Safety<\/li>\n<li>Article 32 \u2013 Subordination of Agreement and Saving Clause<\/li>\n<li>Article 33 \u2013 Complete Agreement<\/li>\n<li>Article 35 \u2013 Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace<\/li>\n<li>Article 44 \u2013 Classifications and Reclassification<\/li>\n<li>Article 46 \u2013 Privacy<\/li>\n<li>Appendix IX: HCS New Hire Wages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The parties tentatively agreed to eliminate the following outdated MOUs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>END Technologist Market Increases<\/li>\n<li>Healthcare Specialist Wage Increases<\/li>\n<li>Imaging Technologist Supervisor Pay Range Increases<\/li>\n<li>JLM Team Members &amp; Union Delegate Training<\/li>\n<li>JLM Workgroup Pertaining to Inpatient Social Work<\/li>\n<li>Lump Sum Payment<\/li>\n<li>New Salary Steps<\/li>\n<li>Non-monetary Steps<\/li>\n<li>Social Work Assistant 2 Wage Increases<\/li>\n<li>Union Roster Reports Post Workday Implementation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The parties tentatively agreed to extend for the life of the successor agreement the following MOUs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Harborview Nursing Scholarships<\/li>\n<li>Respiratory Therapists Skills Training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>SEIU 1199 Counter Proposals<\/h4>\n<p>\n<strong>Leave Due to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault or Stalking <\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong> The Union proposed to expand the definition \u00a0\u00a0of \u201cfamily member\u201d to include siblings.<br \/>\n<strong>New Employee Orientation <\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong> The Union maintained its proposal to meet with employees during new employee orientation in a private location without the Employer present.<\/p>\n<h4>Next Steps<\/h4>\n<p>The next UW-SEIU 1199 bargaining sessions are scheduled for June 4 and June 5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background This recap details the ninth session for the renewal of the collective bargaining agreement between the UW and SEIU 1199.
