This parties reached a tentative agreement for the 2019-2021 CBA during the March 25, 2019 bargaining session.\u00a0 Future recaps will be published online on the UW Labor Relations website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Background<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2018, the parties began bargaining the contract provisions applicable to per diem RNs who had recently been added to the existing bargaining unit.\u00a0 Separately, the parties were in discussions over an agreement with respect to the transition of employees of Northwest Hospital & Medical Center (\u201cNWH\u201d) to employment with the University of Washington, beginning January 1, 2020.<\/p>\n

In January of 2019, the parties began simultaneously bargaining the per diem agreement, NWH transition, the UWMC 2019-21 CBA, and the NWH CBA that will be in place from May 16 to December 31, 2019.\u00a0 After six sessions, the parties reached a tentative agreement that would resolve all four components listed above.<\/p>\n

UWMC Rollover Contract<\/strong><\/p>\n

A ratified agreement would result in a rollover contract for the WSNA RNs at UWMC through June 30, 2021.\u00a0 This means the majority of provisions in the current contract would rollover to the 2019-21 contract, with only the exceptions outlined in the transition agreement and per diem provisions.\u00a0 There would be no further contract bargaining required until a successor agreement is bargained in 2021.<\/p>\n

Voting<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Employer agrees to support voting efforts by allowing the Union access to the various spaces to conduct voting, and allowing employees a reasonable amount of time to vote if they are unable to do so during their normal break times.<\/p>\n
