{"id":10734,"date":"2026-02-24T09:16:04","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T17:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/labor\/?p=10734"},"modified":"2026-03-30T11:23:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T18:23:40","slug":"uaw-research-uw-negotiations-recap-for-february-24-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/2026\/02\/24\/uaw-research-uw-negotiations-recap-for-february-24-2026","title":{"rendered":"UAW Research \u2013 UW Negotiations Recap for February 24, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This recap details the first session for the renewal of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the University of Washington and UAW Research.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Tentative Agreements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The parties tentatively agreed to maintain current contract language on the following articles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preamble<\/li>\n<li>Article 5: Contracting<\/li>\n<li>Article 7: Employee Assistance Program<\/li>\n<li>Article 26: Privacy<\/li>\n<li>Article 31: Reversion Rights<\/li>\n<li>Article 33: Subordination of Agreement and Savings Clause<\/li>\n<li>Article 38: Tuition Exemption Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Union Initial Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h6><strong>Article 32: Salary Overpayment Recovery<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The Union proposed to remove the requirement that employees must have under 240 hours of vacation time to use vacation time to pay back an overpayment.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Article 34: Telework and Work Location <\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The Union proposed to require the Employer provide a written response to employees whose telework requests were denied within fourteen (14) calendar days, and that telework request denials would be greivable.
