Recaps are published online on the <a href=\"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/labor\/staff-unions\/sag-aftra\/negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Tentative Agreements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The parties tentatively agreed to the following:<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 21 \u2013 Holidays <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The parties agreed to housekeeping edits as well as including language that would clarify the use of Holiday Credit.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 35 \u2013 Union Representatives and Stewards<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The parties agreed to housekeeping edits as well as paid release time for three bargaining unit members in future contract bargaining negotiation sessions.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>New MOU \u2013 Unit Clarification <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The parties agreed to a new MOU that would allow the parties to continue discussing their joint filing regarding the representation of temporary job profiles. This MOU would outline the affected job profiles and individuals currently in those positions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>SAG-AFTRA Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Article 3 \u2013 Non-Discrimination and Diversity<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In response to the Employer\u2019s proposal, the Union agreed to change the name of this article and agreed to strike subsections 3.3 and 3.4. The Union also proposed a new subsection, 3.3 Discussion. In this new subsection, the Union proposed that the parties could meet to discuss issues related to harassment, discrimination, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sagaftra.org\/awarding-american-scene\">American Scene<\/a>, as defined by SAG-AFTRA.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>New MOU \u2013 Seattle Washington Local News Journalism Funding <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In response to the Employer\u2019s proposal regarding the MOU \u2013 Seattle Locality Premium, the Union proposed this new MOU. In this new MOU, the Union proposed that in the event the State of Washington or City of Seattle created a program to financially support local news journalism, the Union could file a demand to bargain over the dissemination of such funding.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>UW Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Article 7 \u2013 Union Security <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In response to the Union\u2019s proposal, the Employer reasserted its initial proposal from November 4, 2025.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 22 \u2013 Vacation Time Off<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In response to the Union\u2019s proposal, the Employer reasserted its initial proposal from October 15, 2025.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 30 \u2013 Layoff <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In response to the Union\u2019s proposal, the Employer agreed to the Union\u2019s language that the Employer would attempt to notify the Union of impending layoffs ninety (90) calendar days in advance, but no less than thirty (30) calendar days in advance of implementation so that the parties can discuss and consider reasonable alternative proposals. The Employer also reasserted its proposed language regarding this notice period not applying to emergency layoffs due to acts of nature, financial emergencies, suspension of operations, or furloughs.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Article 40 \u2013 Duration <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In response to the Union\u2019s proposal, the Employer agreed to make this article the last article in the agreement.
