Incumbents are responsible for selection, discipline and dismissal actions and for the assignment, scheduling, training, and evaluation of subordinate personnel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Select, train, assign, and supervise broadcast technicians and student employees in construction, installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and operation of radio\/television broadcast facilities and equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Direct the setup, technical operation, and maintenance of remote productions and broadcasts;<\/p>\n<p>Design or supervise the design and development of control rooms, transmitter facilities, closed circuit television and cable distribution systems, control and switching systems, microwave relay systems and network interconnects, video-tape record-playback systems, processing systems, RF switching, demodulation-rebroadcast systems, and related broadcast equipment and systems;<\/p>\n<p>Evaluate equipment specifications and make recommendations for purchase;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in the development of long-range plans;<\/p>\n<p>Provide technical assistance relative to set lighting, equipment usage and limitation, engineering, and general operation of broadcast facilities and equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain an inventory and stock of repair and replacement parts;<\/p>\n<p>Conduct proof of performance tests on broadcast systems and production facilities;<\/p>\n<p>Allocate and schedule studio and control room equipment usage and maintenance;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Five years of full-time experience in radio or television broadcast technician work which has included one year of lead\/supervisory experience. Possession of a first class Federal Communications Commission radio-telephone operator&#8217;s license.
