set up and monitor herpes cultures; maintain stock cultures; read gram stains; make and stain blood smears;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare reagents, chemical solutions, culture media or cell cultures according to established procedures;<\/p>\n<p>Operate laboratory equipment such as electronic balances, microscopes, spectrophotometers, pH meters, autoclaves, metering pumps and centrifuges;<\/p>\n<p>Participate in training students and new employees<\/p>\n<p>Perform laboratory specimen processing consisting of receiving, identifying, assigning accession numbers, sorting, preparation and internal laboratory distribution of blood, urine, and other biological specimens;<\/p>\n<p>Respond to inquiries concerning patient lab values, reference ranges, specimen requirements, procedures, time required for tests, and preparation of specimens to outside labs for analysis;<\/p>\n<p>Perform data processing and clerical tasks;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the work of a Clinical Laboratory Assistant;<\/p>\n<p>May perform phlebotomy on patients to obtain laboratory samples;<\/p>\n<p>May perform waived testing such as glucose or urine dip sticks;
