Supervises assigned personnel. Shares specialty expertise with peers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Performs dietitian duties in a sub-specialty area such as food marketing, sensory evaluation, work productivity measurement, renal, burns, geriatrics, oncology, metabolic support;<\/p>\n<p>Conducts research in the field of nutrition, dietetics, and Food Service Systems;<\/p>\n<p>Assists in development of budgetary data, such as FTE requirements, equipment needs, revenue forecasting;<\/p>\n<p>Interviews and recommends selection of applicants, trains new employees, assigns and schedules work, acts upon leave requests, conducts annual performance evaluations and recommends disciplinary action;<\/p>\n<p>Instructs dietitians and other personnel in area of specialty;<\/p>\n<p>Develops and utilizes data base systems and trains other staff in their use to evaluate nutrition care and food control processes;<\/p>\n<p>Assists in developing education objectives and implementing programs of study for dietetic and post-masters students;<\/p>\n<p>Trains community dietitians in current research and its application to nutrition and food service systems in sub-specialty areas;<\/p>\n<p>Trains other health care professionals in clinical applications of nutrition principles;<\/p>\n<p>Performs the duties of Dietitian 1;<\/p>\n<p>Performs other duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree with major in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition or Food Service Administration;<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>Completion of American Dietetic Association approved dietetic education program;<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>Registered Dietitian status;<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>24 months recent full-time experience as an R.D.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>07\/16\/2019: Class adopted for UW contract classified staff per PERC decision to add this title to the SEIU Healthcare 1199NW Social Worker bargaining unit (Case #130658-E-18).
