{"id":5400,"date":"2024-03-26T15:16:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T22:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5400"},"modified":"2025-05-06T14:45:05","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T21:45:05","slug":"elec-apprentice","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/v1cypwr8vx2.c.updraftclone.com\/comp\/classified-staff\/elec-apprentice\/","title":{"rendered":"Elec Apprentice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18833 (NE S WFSE Trades)<br \/>\n22826 (NE H NI WFSE Trades)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform semi-skilled electrician work of graduated complexity in the institution&#8217;s building maintenance and alterations program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are distinguished by assignment as an apprentice trade trainee for the electrician journey class receiving on-the-job and academic training to achieve journey status.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under guidance of a journeyworker, perform various electrical maintenance and alteration duties;<\/p>\n<p>Obtain, prepare and deliver materials to the job site and assist in assembly and installation;<\/p>\n<p>Clean up and maintain shop areas, work sites and storage areas;<\/p>\n<p>Complete on-the-job electrician trades training program requirements;<\/p>\n<p>Complete related academic training which will consist of designated trades school and\/or correspondence courses as available and applicable to the electrician journey class;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties and functions as specified in approved apprentice training program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school graduation or equivalent; AND meet qualification standards approved by Washington State Apprenticeship Council.
